Personal comment
It has been useful to study the clothing that is worn by the characters in my media text because when filming a scene we could make sure that the clothing was the same otherwise it would confuse the audience.
The main thing that I have learnt from doing by breaking down the character profiles is that it gives an intrigued viewer the chance to read more in depth detail about the cast of characters. I have also researched similar things in real life films & there are incredibly detailed breakdowns of the cast & the types of characters that they play on websites such as wikipedia.
I have learnt that by having detailed character profiles that it leads people to be more interested in what is going on because they have a sort of vague back story of events before they even watch the film.

Institutional Research

Personal comment
It has been very beneficial for me to research a couple of media institutions because it has given me an insight into how films are funded & what type of companies publish different types of films.

Regulation research

Personal comment
It has been useful for me to research film regulations & the BBFC because it has allowed me to look in depth at what types of content can be permitted within certain age brackets.
This has given me a good guideline to work with on my own film of the type of content that I can use.
One of the things I have learnt is how the age ratings are broken down by the BBFC into categories so that they can help to protect the general public. The whole point of the age rating system is to help ensure that people do not expose younger people to a film that is innapropriate to their age, that they may not understand or may pick up behavior patterns from what they have seen.
